12 hours walking among the spirits of those who lost the battle. 12 hours feeling the beating hearts of those who survived. And 12 hours looking into the hopeful eyes of those still fighting. For 12 hours, we fought back against fatigue, aches, the cold, and the rain. But we also fought back tears—tears that flowed without uttering a word—upon reading the moving stories and especially upon seeing just how many people came out to support the cause. |

Those who blindly believed that "April showers bring May flowers" have surely had a change of heart; why, the 10-odd cm of snow that descended from the heavens above last week were enough to make us think twice about putting away our parkas.
